Somehow I missed when this rad video first came out for one of my favorite songs off of Cass McComb‘s last album—Executioner’s Song. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like it and won’t share it with you . . .
I don’t feel complete unless I’ve compiled a list ranking my favorite music of the year (too many NYEs spent up late listening to the top 100 countdown on the headphones.) So, here goes:
Ever feel lonely in a crowd? How about the summertime blues? This song is touching, haunting, bittersweet. The video is remarkable in its lo-fi simplicity and beautiful in its original spirit. Follow the back of the head of one sad punk through a hazy summer street fair crowd and finish with with some electrical light dancing. I love it. Not entirely sure why. But I do. It’s a comfort video.
