favorite music of 2009.
I don’t feel complete unless I’ve compiled a list ranking my favorite music of the year (too many NYEs spent up late listening to the top 100 countdown on the headphones.) So, here goes:

coming soon: camera obscura “my maudlin career”
We first got into Camera Obscura because they sounded like Belle & Sebastian. And we couldn’t get enough of anything that sounded like Belle & Sebastian. A few albums later, and the band has forged its own niche and sound and we really appreciate it. Now they have a new album, with a title that sounds like a Morrissey song, and we’re loving them even more. The album won’t be released for another week, but it’s streaming in its entirity on NPR and is definitely worth the preview!
